We consistently receive excellent feedback from our clients, and often have repeat bookings from them, their families and guests.
Here's a selection.
We would just like to say thank you so much for playing at our ceilidh on Saturday,
everyone has commented on how great they thought you sounded as a band and how
helpful the caller was.
My grandparents, who have Scottish Country danced for years and attended numerous
ceilidhs, were very impressed with the music and dances as were ourselves.
We had a wonderful time celebrating our wedding anniversary.
Thank you again,
Best wishes
Jasmine & John, wedding anniversary at Stamford Arts Centre.
Last night was absolutely fabulous and I’ve been inundated with messages, emails and Instagram comments expressing this. What a talented bunch you are!
A huge thank you to the band. Robin, the caller, was great! He eased everyone into the dancing and made us laugh throughout with his humour and fun. The band was terrific, such energy, enthusiasm and talent.
Everyone was up dancing and laughing and it was a thoroughly successful fundraising event!
I have no hesitation in recommending Magogs and I’m sure everyone there felt the same. It was such an inclusive event, everyone in the room was involved, having fun and smiling!
Thank you for such a special evening!

Hi Paul and the rest of the band,
We had an absolutely wonderful evening, thank you so much for an excellent ceilidh.
The calling was excellent - everyone knew what they were meant to be doing, or at least had fun pretending they did, and the band did an excellent job of getting everyone of all ages to take part in some (or all) of the dancing). The band made the wedding extra special, and they were so organised and happy that it removed so much stress from the day.
A few quotes from friends and family:
"I thought they were really good, and the caller was just at the right level encouraging people to try to get it right but not fretting when it all went wrong. Would be quite happy to listen to them doing a concert gig too."
"Yes, the band were great, I could have listened just to them."
"The caller pitched his tone exactly right, encouraging participation in a fun way. Dances were explained clearly and were enjoyable and encouraged mixing, perfect for a wedding where guests may not know many others there. Thoroughly recommend them!"
"Loved the music, great clear calling and a nice selection of dances 😊"

Thank you for Friday. You guys were great and everyone had such a good time! Perfect for giving newbies a taster and my northern friends and family love it! I’ll share any good pictures with when they come through! Thanks, Alice and Kate.

We had the best wedding day and the ceilidh in the evening with lots of friends and family joining in made it especially memorable. People are still telling us how much they enjoyed it now, several weeks after the event! Robin said that it was really important to him that the ceilidh was inclusive so that everyone could join in and he couldn't have been more successful in ensuring this! He was brilliant at involving everyone in the room and making them feel comfortable. The music was a joy - lively and cheerful all evening. We cannot thank you enough for the energy and enjoyment that you brought to our wedding day. Please do pass our thanks onto the whole band. It was one of the happiest days of our lives and the ceilidh in the evening made it so special!

Sorry this has taken few days but BIG THANKS for a great show last Saturday. Thanks particularly for being brave enough to correct our dumb proposed layout (mental note, next time include a sketch!) As you arranged it I think you will agree that was a decent venue for a ceilidh… hope to see you there again! We have had loads of feedback and all hugely positive! Please share with the rest of the band. Thanks.

We wanted something a little different for our wedding. Magogs were personally recommended to us, and we have no hesitation in recommending them to you. We had great fun, and look back on the ceilidh with happy memories and laughter. The music was brilliant, and the marvellous calling meant that everyone could get involved, which was what we wanted. A perfect finale to a wonderful day.

Thanks very much for a great evening. Everyone had a brilliant night, and we all have the bruises to prove it! Please pass on my thanks to the rest of your band members.

We used the Magogs for our Summer ball and the staff and students ceilidh'd together until the small hours. The music was great and the caller was very helpful. It added a different dimension to our party and proved to be lots of fun for both young and old!

Thank you all very much for the great music at our 18th birthday ceilidh - it made the evening very special, and it was also huge fun - the atmosphere was great, and the dancing was brilliantly led by the caller. Thank you all very much!

We just wanted to say thank you so much for playing at our wedding in Weybridge. Your band was fantastic; you certainly got the party started and so many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. For most of the guests it was their first ceilidh and you certainly made a great impression. We had an awesome day which is partly down to you; so thank you.
Gwen and John, wedding at Weybridge.
Apologies for the delay in thanking you, but this year has been a bit of a whirlwind. You were great in getting the party started. We had guests declaring themselves unable or unwilling to dance - dancing! This is exactly what we wanted for our wedding; a full dance floor. Many thanks.
Steph & Cain, wedding.
Fey and John, wedding at Newmarket.
We were keen to do something out of the ordinary; this year for our Christmas Party and came up with the idea of a Ceilidh. The party was held on a very cold night in December but the Magogs soon got everybody going with their lively brand of music and helped to keep everyone warm! The music was excellent as was the caller who managed to persuade many of our more reluctant employees to join in a dance or two. By the end of the Ceilidh it seemed that practically everyone was on the dance floor and having a great time! I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending the Magogs for any entertainment event and I hope we can use them again in the future.
